Speed Tax Refunds with Direct DepositMore taxpayers are choosing direct deposit to receive federal tax refunds. The electronic payment method is more secure and more convenient - automatically depositing your refund in your bank account. To request direct deposit, follow the instructions for "Refund' on your tax return. And, for faster refunds, try E-file - submit your return and receive your refund via the Internet. (refer to article on "Electronic Tax Payments - Fast, Easy & Secure"). Heffler, Radetich & Saitta's Tax Services Group encourages E-filing and will be assisting businesses and individuals in registering online. Did you Know?More than 49 million people had their tax refunds deposited directly into their bank accounts in 2004, an 11% increase from the year before. Choosing direct deposit is the best way to guard against having a refund misplaced or stolen. Furthermore, taxpayers who file electronically get their refunds in about half the time as those who file paper returns.Caution: some financial institutions do not allow a joint refund to be deposited into an individual account. Check with your bank or other financial institution to make sure your direct deposit will be accepted. Also, make sure you provide the correct nine digit routing number and bank account number when selecting direct deposit.
